General Information
The specificity of education at second degree studies in the field of materials engineering is the focus of the study program on the latest subjects of advanced construction and functional materials and material technologies. The emphasis in the range of construction materials is on structural determinants of material properties, multifunctional materials and nanomaterials. On the topic of functional materials, the student acquires knowledge about photonic materials and their use in semiconductor radiation detectors, non-telecommunication application of optical fibers and electro-optical liquid crystal transducers. Education in materials engineering is connected with research in that field conducted by the academic staff of The Institute of Materials Engineering as well as The Institute of Technical Physics. Students are encouraged to take part in that research not only during laboratory classes or while preparing subject projects or thesis but also in one of the four thriving students’ science clubs operating within the Faculty. The concept for education in materials engineering targets to prepare young scientific staff for research teams (research and development employees, scientific and technical engineers, design and implementation personnel) specializing in the field of materials engineering.
Fees
The amount of fees is set in Decision of the Rector of the Military University of Technology on determining the amount of fees collected from students beginning their studies in the academic year 2024/2025

-
a document confirming the course of studies to date: supplement, index or study history card;
-
a certificate confirming knowledge of English at least at B2 level;
-
possibly other documents confirming your competences.
In the case of foreign documents:
- a personal questionnaire of a candidate for second-cycle studies printed from the system;
- a foreign diploma with an apostille and a supplement or other document of graduation from a university abroad, entitling to apply for admission to second-cycle studies in the country in which it was issued (original);
- translation of the diploma and the supplement into Polish by a sworn translator entered on the list of translators by the Ministry of Justice (original);
- a certificate confirming the knowledge of English at least at the B2 level (original);

Recruitment rules
The start of recruitment for a specific field and form of study depends on the Rector setting a limit for admission to this field and form of study.
The start of a specific field and form of study depends on the number of candidates.
Only a candidate with a professional title of engineer, bachelor's degree, master's degree or master's degree in engineering obtained in this field or the following related fields may apply for admission to a specific field of second-cycle studies:
-
chemistry;
-
power engineering;
-
physics;
-
technical physics;
-
mechanical engineering;
-
mechatronics;
-
metallurgy;
-
nanotechnology;
-
chemical technology;
-
management and production engineering.
In the case of a candidate with a diploma of completion of another field of study or a diploma of completion of studies outside the Republic of Poland, the recruitment committee decides whether the candidate has the competences necessary to continue education in the selected field of study.
The scope of the qualification procedure includes:
- preparation of ranking lists;
-
making a decision regarding admission to studies by entering the student list.
The decision to admit a candidate to second-cycle studies by entering them on the student list is made by the admission committee, taking into account:
-
competences necessary to continue education at second-cycle studies in a specific field of study;
-
results obtained during the previously completed studies;
- the degree of compliance of the learning outcomes obtained by the candidate with the learning outcomes required to undertake second-cycle studies in a given field of study;
-
graduation result.
