General Information

Data Science is a modern, interdisciplinary study in economic analytics, combining in itself issues from economics, computer science and management. During their studies, students acquire competences related to programming, operation and configuration of IT systems supporting the Big Data management process. It is aimed at students interested in using theoretical knowledge in the field of mathematics and computer science as well as statistical and IT tools in their professional work related to data processing and analysis.

The study program includes a variety of subjects, thanks to which students will be introduced to the basics of IT and the most popular scripting languages. They will also learn what statistical analysis and data modeling elements should look like.

Data science allows you to ensure comprehensive development after graduation. Graduates can apply for jobs in companies with various business profiles, as well as in public institutions which, in order to function efficiently, need the best possible data analysis and the ability to efficiently manage them.

Fees

The amount of fees is set in Decision of the Rector of the Military University of Technology on determining the amount of fees collected from students beginning their studies in the academic year 2024/2025

The fee per semester is 1490 EUR.

Delivery of documents

After registering in the IRK online system, you must deliver (by 3 February 2025) to the university in person, through an authorized person or by post:

• a personal questionnaire of a candidate for second-cycle studies printed from the system;

• a copy of the higher education diploma - the original for inspection (in exceptional cases, at the registration stage, there may be a certificate of completion of studies with the completion result);

• a document confirming the course of studies to date: supplement, index or study history card;

• a certificate confirming knowledge of English at least at B2 level;

• possibly other documents confirming your competences.

In the case of foreign documents:

• a personal questionnaire of a candidate for second-cycle studies printed from the system;
• a foreign diploma with an apostille and a supplement or other document of graduation from a university abroad, entitling to apply for admission to second-cycle studies in the country in which it was issued (original);
• translation of the diploma and the supplement into Polish by a sworn translator entered on the list of translators by the Ministry of Justice (original);
• a certificate confirming the knowledge of English at least at the B2 level (original);
• copy of passport or other official identity document (original available for inspection).

Recruitment rules

 The start of recruitment for a specific field and form of study depends on the Rector setting a limit for admission to this field and form of study.

Only a candidate with a professional title of engineer, bachelor's degree, master's degree or master's degree in engineering obtained in this field or the following related fields may apply for admission to a specific field of second-cycle studies:

• data science.

In the case of a candidate with a diploma of completion of another field of study or a diploma of completion of studies outside the Republic of Poland, the recruitment committee decides whether the candidate has the competences necessary to continue education in the selected field of study.

The scope of the qualification procedure includes:

• preparation of ranking lists;

• making a decision regarding admission to studies by entering the student list.

The decision to admit a candidate to second-cycle studies by entering them on the student list is made by the admission committee, taking into account:

• competences necessary to continue education at second-cycle studies in a specific field of study;

• results obtained during the previously completed studies;

• the degree of compliance of the learning outcomes obtained by the candidate with the learning outcomes required to undertake second-cycle studies in a given field of study;
• graduation result.
